Introducing a low cost and rapidly deployable interim solution.

INTRODUCING THE GEAR GUARDIAN BY LINELESS LOBSTER

The Gear Guardian has no electronics, is made of rugged materials and can be attached to any trap in minutes. It aims to:

 - Reduce the occurrence and severity of entanglements.

 - Provide lobstermen a way to rescue otherwise lost ghost gear.

 - Demonstrate consumer demand for ethically sourced lobster.

Step 1 - Attach to any trap.

Made of rugged plastic and containing no electronics, The Gear Guardian is designed to be produced at a low cost and attaches to any existing trap in minutes.

Step 2 - Insert weak breakaway link and clip trigger release to topside line.

When a whale encounters a vertical rope and exerts force of greater than 1,700 lbs, the weak insert breaks and engages the quick release mechanism.

Step 3 - Rescue buoys surface.

The rescue buoys rise to the surface attached to 1,000 lb test kevlar line that is anchored to the trap. The whale and the existing buoy are free to float away.

Step 4 - Recover gear.

The traps can be hauled up safely, reducing ghost gear pollution and saving Lobstermen money.
