I think it’s obvious to all that we have a problem. Lobstermen, policymakers and scientists all have valid points, but at the moment very few people are really listening to each other.
Amazing new technology is being met with stubborn reception, while regulations meant to help are hurting those whose lives depend on our oceans.
"Nobody listens when you yell."
I say this almost daily to my two young sons and I believe it to my core. Right Whales and Lobstermen will continue to suffer until we can meet each other in the middle.
BUT...that middle ground is fluid. As technology improves and sentiment changes, so too does the middle ground. We need to act now!
What if it didn't have to be this way?
What if we could prove that consumers are willing to pay more for ethically sourced lobster?
And what if we could prove that lobstermen could actually make more money this way?
Then we might be onto something...right?
Remaining solely focused on Ropeless technology and/or drastic policy changes as the only solution is getting us nowhere. It's time for a change.

- Provide lobstermen a way to rescue otherwise lost ghost gear.
- Demonstrate consumer demand for ethically sourced lobster.
